Community venues

The Begbrook Retirement Club meets in Greenfinch Lodge local area community room for the over 55s, the picture above shows them returning from one of their summer coach outings.

In 2018 a new addition was added to the offering in and around the Greater Fishponds community, this will be Shaftesbury Park, the new home of Lockleaze Dings Crusaders Rugby Club. Greater Fishponds is a beautiful green area on the edge of the council run city and all once part of Kingswood Forest, many of the areas in this landscape are protected and protected landscapes are ideal for sports and leisure. Barton Hill Rugby Club came to Speedwell on Barton Fields when the old quarry was filled in to become an almost town and village green and Barton Fields was further protected at the time of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year to become a Field in Trust. Similarly today the Dings Crusaders have sold their site in Lockleaze for much needed housing and their new home is on Greenbelt protected land, ideal for sports and their new club is built on a brownfield site on the site of an old neglected barn.

Our new rugby club is a super new community venue for hire and for memberships. Follow them on facebook and see details below:
